Tough Mudder Training Continued...

This year, a few of the more adventurous members of the Wynne-Jones crew signed up to do the South West Tough Mudder challenge on Saturday 18 August 2018.  A number of the trainees from both the Cheltenham and Cardiff Offices are taking part, as well as a couple of our Partners (!) and a few members of our amazing support team.  Together we will be wading through mounds of mud, swimming though skips of ice water, attempting to scale Everest, and getting electrocuted…what could possibly go wrong?!

With less than 3 months to go (eek!), myself, Grace and Rebecca decided we’d better get fit, so that we stand at least some chance of getting around the course in one piece.  We decided to follow the Tough Mudder 3 month training plan, which is every bit as brutal as it sounds!

We’re now 3 weeks into the 12 week plan, and currently every part of my body hurts!  Similar to our training for the 40 mile charity trek along the Cotswold Way last June, it’s now more of a question of “what doesn’t hurt?”.  However, every session is getting a little bit easier, which can only be a good sign!  Maybe we will survive this after all!

Why more women should pursue careers within STEM and embrace their inner STEM superhero

As soon as Jodie Whittaker jumped in her Tardis this week she changed gender role perceptions for a whole new generation of young women. The first female Doctor Who’s ground-breaking turn has not only served to challenge decades of attitudes towards traditionally male-dominated roles, but could even encourage a new wave of budding scientists to explore a career in science. STEM roles have traditionally experienced a gender divide, with more men than women pursuing a career across Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics industries. However, intellectual property firm Wynne- Jones IP said STEM offers “unparalleled” opportunities to young women looking for a rewarding and enriching career.)…
