Wynne Jones senior patent attorney delighted with CIPA Informals regional role

Matthew Veale, who is based at the leading legal firm’s Cardiff office, will be representing the CIPA Informals, an association of the Student Members of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) for Wales and the South West.

Through his role as Informals Regional Secretary South West and Wales, the 28-year-old will be organizing workshops and social events for trainee attorneys in the region, and acting as a point of contact for CIPA.

On his new role Mr Veale, who is one of 12 regional secretaries, said: “I am delighted to be representing Wales and the South West for the CIPA.

“To be able to speak on behalf of trainee patent attorneys across the regions is an honour, and I look forward to sharing industry best practice in all intellectual property matters going forwards.

“I’d like to thank Wynne Jones IP for their continued support as I take on this new role alongside my traineeship, I’d also like to thank the CIPA for this opportunity.”

Mr Veale joined leading intellectual property firm Wynne Jones IP in July as a senior trainee patent attorney in the Physics team.

He is involved in delivering new online services to clients, advising across areas including computer, software and apps, electronics, communications and mobile devices, medtech, opto-electronics, photonics, semiconductors and materials.
